Will my child be involved in our sessions?

While these session focus on working with parents, children can also be included when it is helpful. For example, the therapist may observe how you and your child interact to better understand your family’s needs and offer guidance on improving communication or emotional responses. Children might also take part in their own sessions, which could involve talking or play activities, either with you or on their own. This approach helps support the whole family’s well-being.

What if my partner does not want to attend sessions?

We can focus on what is within your circle of control and directly tackle stressors related to your own view on how you parent, how you feel about your parenting skills, how you feel about your child, etc.

Why did the information I’ve found in books, podcasts, and videos never help?

Information found online is usually very general, so it may not fully address your unique situation, values, or family dynamics. That’s completely understandable—everyone is different, and there’s no one-size-fits-all solution. By working one-on-one with a therapist, you will get personalized support and strategies that are tailored just for you and your specific concerns.

Does your practice help foster parents, parents with adopted children, or legal guardians?

Yes, we can help you build strong, supportive relationships with your children, no matter your family’s background or how you became a parent. Our clinicians understand the unique challenges that come with fostering or adopting—both before and after adoption—and are here to support you every step of the way.

Do you offer parental support during pregnancy?

Our clinicians are here to support parents even before your baby arrives. Getting ready for a new child can be stressful, and those feelings can continue or even grow after birth. By working with a therapist during pregnancy, you can learn helpful coping strategies and make a plan for a positive start as a parent. This early support can make a big difference for you and your family.
