About Mary Cross, MSW, RSW

Mary has a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Wilfrid Laurier University and is a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).

She is a caring and supportive therapist anchored by her desire to improve her clients well-being. She believes that everyone is unique and deserves a unique approach to therapy.

Mary is passionate about helping her clients feel special and supported. She provides evidence-based treatments, including cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), mindfulness and dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT) skills. With young children, she incorporates play and creativity-based therapies.

Some of her areas of focus are: anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), self-esteem and emotional management: She also focuses on supporting children, teens and adults with neurodiversity to adapt and cope with challenges.

Parenting a child with mental health concerns or neurodiverse needs can be challenging. Mary supports parents to help their child at home using practical approaches to enhance family relationships. She also supports parents with children who can’t or won’t attend therapy by providing emotional support and practical skills training.

Mary has lived experience growing up with neurodiverse family members, adapting to her own neurodiverse traits, and experience as the parent of a (now grown) child with giftedness, NVLD, ADHD and a behavioural diagnosis.

Mary works virtually via webcam with Children, Youth, Adults and Parents and finds it works really well. She would be honoured to support you.
